U13 Girls Cup Final: Fenit Samphires 3 MEK 4 (After extra time) A heartbreaking night for our girls who once again were superb in an absolute classic of a game. To go 2 down early and fight so bravely to not only equalise but to take the lead with minutes to go. An equaliser at the death and a cracking goal in extra time meant that we just lost out to a strong MEK side. Thanks to MEK Galaxy F.C. for a great game and the strong support that we’ve had all season. Most of all thanks to our fantastic players for whom silverware is surely just around the corner
Tucker Kelly Cup Final: Ruairi Kelly, son of Tucker, was in attendance last night at unforgettable game between Killorglin AFC and Killarney Athletic A.F.C.. Killarney Athletic came out on top after a wonderful arm wrestle between both teams. Luke Doolin was announced as player of the match and was presented the award by Ruairi and for that we in the Kerry school boys girls league are thankful for his presence last night.
Congrats to Mercy Mounthawk who won the Senior Kerry Cup in soccer today with strong representation from Fenit Samphires players past and present in Laura Reilly, Grace O Dowd, Lily Nowak, Grace Reilly, Rachel Sargent, Clara O Dowd, Aine Cagampange and Saoirse O Rahily. Its great to see growth of the girls game in the schools..
Girls U15s: Our u15s bowed out of the cup this evening. We travelled away to Kenmare which was a huge commitment for the girls to travel especially those in exam years. We were unlucky with conceding a couple of the goals but we were competitive throughout. In the 2nd half we put pressure on Kenmare but could not make breakthrough. Thanks to Sandra Murphy for travelling with us. This wraps up the season which started back in September. The core of this team also played with the 16s so many played over 25 games this year and the improvement this brings is great to see. They should be very proud of themselves and we hope to see them all back next season. We also had soon u13s play up over the year and all took to the older age groups with ease. Finally thanks to all parents for driving the girls to training and matches and for supporting them. Enjoy the summer and we will see ye all in August…
Well done to Erin who was a member of the Kerry schoolgirls U12 soccer team who won against Leitrim/Sligo yesterday in the Interleague Final. Erin is a proud Fenit Samphires player on our U12 girls team!
