Seniors: Celsius Menswear Challenge Cup Samphires 4 v 4 Killarney Athletic B – Samphires win on penalties (Scorers- Peter McCarthy (2), Gearoid O’Connor, Cian McKenna)
Well done to our seniors who progressed to the next round of the Celsius Menswear Challenge Cup, winning on penalties on Sunday last.
Boys U15s: Samphires 2 v 1 Ballyhar (Scorers Mikey Corridan (2))
Well done to the boys 15s who edged Ballyhar last week with Mikey Corridan scoring a brace. We were slightly fortunate overall to get the victory, with a less efficient than usual display. Both teams had periods of dominace but in the end we held out.
Boys U13s: Samphires 1 v 0 Dingle (Scorer Conor Dineen)
After a tough game that could have gone either way, we beat a tough Dingle side after a battle in a windy Fenit last Saturday. Our man of the match was our keeper, Gerard Teahan, who was outstanding throughout. Both teams had periods of dominance but it took a goal from Conor Dineen, who was another player to shine for us, to separate the sides. It went end to end for the last 15 and both keepers were on top of their game. Well done to both teams on such a good game in tough conditions.
Boys U12s: Samphires 2 v 1 Milltown (Scorers: Daniel Lawlor, Ben Stack)
First round of the cup for the u12s yesterday morning away to a well organised Milltown team, went in at the break 0-0 and 2 early goals from Daniel and Ben led to a nervy last 20 mins following an exceptional solo effort from the Milltown winger but a great display between the sticks by our captain and MOTM MJ Locke has us in the next round of the draw with a 2-1 win
Boys U10s: Our u10s had a series of games in the non competitive league in wild conditions vs LB Rovers Soccer Academy in Ardfert 2 weekends ago. Well done to the boys who showed real determination and teamwork in tough weather and thanks to LB for the sporting matches. Well done boys!
Our last set of games in the non competitive u10 boys league took place last Sunday against MEK Galaxy F.C. at Ardfert Astro. Very enjoyable games with progress since our first outings very clear to see. Well done everyone We also had the added excitement of cheering on Samphires Seniors into last 8 of the cup courtesy of a penalty shootout vs Killarney Athletic before our own games started. Great excitement
Well done to Sadhbh Dowling who once again represented the club with pride as Kerry U14 girls were narrowly beaten in extra time against Mayo in the Shield semi-final.
