Boys U14s: Killarney Celtic 4 vs Fenit 1 (Scorer Mikey Corridan)
A disappointing start to our premier league campaign saw us lose 4-1 to Killarney Celtic. With little training under our belt we were lacking in intensity and poor with our passing and movement from the start. Despite this we defended quite well and kept a much bigger Killarney Celtic team at bay for the first half and hit them with a break away goal down the left with Alan O’Connor feeding Luke O’Carroll who slipped Mikey Corridan in for a lovely finish under the keeper. 1-0 to Fenit at half-time.
Killarney pushed on in the 2nd half and scored a good goal with a header from a corner. We continued to battle but our passing was poor and we failed to move off the ball and find our team-mates. Killarney scored from short range after some missed tackles on the left hand side. We battled back and might have scored after a good ball over the top from Dara Harty allowed Mikey one on one with the keeper but he stood strong and made a fine save. From here on in we wilted and as we tired, Killarney scored two goals towards the end. A lot of work ahead to get into shape for the season ahead.
