U18 – Park 1- 2 Fenit Samphires (Scorers Christopher Murphy, Conor Lowe)
We played the Park Youths in a league game last week in the KDL all-weather pitch in Tralee on a blustry spring day. We emerged victorious against a very well organised Park team which set up to play on the counter. Overall in the game we had a lot of territory and possession but the Park caused us quite a lot of problems and indeed went one up after they put together a very good move on the half hour. Try as we did we could not break them down and were it not for a double block by Ciaran Carmody on 75 minutes we might have been 2 down. Shortly after, keeper Joe Hanafin kept us in the game with an unbelieveable save from a shot that was destined to go in the top corner. But we kept to our guns and on 85 we scored at the far post when Chris Murphy prodded home through their massed ranks and in injury time we scored again from a Conor Lowe free. Well done to both teams who served up a great game.
