17s Edge Castlegregory To Reach Cup Final

Fenit Samphires Logo WhiteOur 17s team reached the final of the Kerry Cup last Friday after a hard fought battle against Castlegregory. Neither team had a game in over a month and the rustiness was evident with many passes not reaching their target. After a while though both teams grew into the game but defences were on top with chances at a premium. We had more possession in the first half but Castle had the best chance and Ciaran Murray had to be at his best to keep it scoreless. In the second half we ramped up the pressure eventually culminating with Conor Lowe clinically finishing in the 80th minute after good approach work by Dean Meehan, Sean Donnellan and Christopher Murphy. The rest of the match saw us under pressure to keep our opponents at bay and only some last gasp defending by Ciaran Carmody, Austin Clifford, Jamsie Lynch and Cian Donnellan kept us ahead. Once again well done to everyone on the night who gave their all for the victory. We go on now to the final where we will face Dingle in the near future.
