Information for Parents- Season 2015/2016

**This year the league have changed their rules about girls playing the game. Girls may play on a team with boys up until the age of 16. They may play at their own age group or on the team a year younger than their actual age. Fenit Samphires would like to welcome any girls who may have an interest in soccer to come to a couple of our training sessions to see if they would like to register for the club.**

Dear Parent/Guardian

I would like to welcome you and your child to Fenit Samphires F.C. and hope that you will enjoy the coming season with us. This letter is being attached to all registration forms to inform you about fees etc. for the season.

  • The fee for registration for schoolboys in the club has remained at the same figure for the last eight years but this year due to rises in league affiliation costs, transport costs and insurance for the children we have had to raise our membership fee. The fee for one child this season is €70. If two children from the same family are members the fee is €110 and if there are three or more from one family the fee will be €130. The fee for the Academy (U8 & U10) will remain €50 per player and €70 for two players from the same family.
  • A fee of €2 per training session will be paid by each player. This money will be used to purchase training equipment (footballs, cones, bibs etc). This fee is only paid once per week if your child attends more than one training session.
  • A fee of €2 per home game will also be collected which is used for the payment of referees.
  • A fee of €3 for away games will be collected and will be used to pay for referees, with any surplus being used to help with the cost of bus transport for which the club pays a large sum of money each year.

We would ask that you ensure that your child has the appropriate fees for training and matches as stated above.

It is also club policy that each player serve their own age group first and foremost, ie. If a player is under 11 and they want to play with the under 12 team, this is no problem but they MUST play and train with under 11 also.

Kerry Schoolboys League has directed that the referee’s card at each game is signed by two adults and in order to comply with this and for Fenit Samphires to provide sufficient supervision and support for our players it may be necessary to implement a rota for parents to provide this support. This support from you will be of huge benefit to both managers and players.

It has been our experience in recent years that the amount of junk food being purchased after an away game at the shop can be excessive. Please ensure that your child has no more than €3 to spend at the shop and it might be no harm to encourage your child to bring a small bottle of water and some fruit or healthy snacks with him to his match.

Please be aware that all insurance claims must be registered within one month of incident. Please notify your manager or myself at once of any injury and possible claim.

We hope that your child will have an enjoyable season with Fenit Samphires and that we will see you at various club events and games. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with either myself or any committee member if you have any concerns.

Yours in sport,

Charlotte Dolan – Club Secretary
