U18s Defeated 2-1 At Home To Dingle

Our 18s gave a very good account of themselves last weekend going down 2-1 to a very good Dingle team who are up near the top of the table. We played with the wind in the first half and went ahead through a Bobby O’Regan penalty. We had as much of the play as our opponents and might have added to our lead but unfortunately it was Dingle who got 2 in quick succession. Our opponents when on the offence were very good and we had to be at our best to limit their efforts on goal. Our centre backs of Thomas Dwyer and Antoin Stanton organised things well and made their tackles when needed. On the other side of things we posed our own problems for the Dingle defence through Luke Dalton who is doing very well up front. It was great to see our lads attacking from the back with Padraig O’Connor and Jamie Hogan getting forward especially as the game progressed. Our midfield of Oisin O Brien, Sean Higgins, Jack McCarthy and John Dillane(who replaced David Murphy after 10 minutes injured) all played well and are developing into very good players as they get stronger. We had 2 great chances at the end through John and Oisin but both were thwarted by 2 great saves from their keeper. So it finished 2-1 to Dingle but well done to all our lads on the day.
