Youths Well Beaten By Listowel

Our youths played Listowel Celtic at a wet Samphire Park last Saturday afternoon. In truth it was a game in which we struggled to contain the visitors who looked threatening whenever they attacked. We did manage to string some nice passages of play together when we were in possession and created a number of chances but we couldn’t convert. Up front Sean Higgins and Luke Dalton worked their socks off and linked up well on a few occasions with our midfield four of Bobby O Regan, Thomas Lenihan, David Murphy and Max Benner. Listowel scored twice in the first half which gave us a difficult task for the second.

Fenit’s back four of Padraig O Connor, Paul Nolan, Thomas Dwyer and Jamie Hogan kept working to protect Eoghan O Brien in goals but we just couldn’t keep Listowel from scoring. We introduced Oisin O Brien, John Dillane, Darren Chester and Antoin Staunton during the second half and they all acquitted themselves well with Darren coming close to scoring shortly after his introduction. Listowel scored another three goals during the half to kill the game off.
