16s Lose Despite A Good Performance

Our 16s lost lat Saturday away to Killarney Athletic on a score of 4-1. The result is very disappointing especially as we created more chances than our opponents but when the other team is gifted scores at one end and we score only one of maybe 11 or 12 chances, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what’s going to happen. On the upside at least we played well at times in general play but, to quote a famous phrase, goals pay the rent. It is to the credit too that the boys kept on trying to the end. Best for us were Brian O’Regan in goals who made 2 very good stops in particular and his handling was excellent throughout. Others who did consistently well for us were Dara O’Connor and Sean Donnellen in defence and Bobby O’Regan and Christopher Murphy in midfield while Ciaran Carmody won and recycled a lot of possession for us up front.
