Under 12s Grab Late Draw

Samphires U12s played Listowel Celtic last weekend on a damp day in Fenit. It was a fantastic match where once again we showed an improvement from the last day-The training during the week is starting to pay off but it’s important that all players keep training regularly. We started well with Micheal O’Sullivan in goals hardly troubled but was effective when called upon. At the back we had Dara Heim and Paddy Walsh in the middle with Niall Cassidy and Tommy Burns on the flanks with all 4 having a good game. In front of them in midfield we had Edward Stack and Conor Gaynor in the engine room with Tom Gaynor and Eddie McCarthy on the wings.Up front Oisin Horgan and Adam Dolan were a threat all through. We went 1 up after 20 minutes when some clever interplay involving Eddie and Conor putting Oisin through and he coolly slotted past the advancing keeper. We conceded after a period of pressure and maybe our front 6 could have helped the defence a  bit more at this time. At half time we introduced Ciaran Tuite and Conor Lenihan and again the subs gave us some much needed impetus. Despite this, we went 2-1 down early in the 2nd half but Dara Heim scored a cracker almost immediately from outside the box. With 10 minutes to go we went 3-2 down in a game which was going to and fro at a frenetic pace. With time almost up our wing wizard Eddie McCarthy scored the equaliser after huge pressure by all our lads and there was great cheering all round. Well done to all the boys and keep up the good work.We would ask all parents to please make contact with the club if their son is not available to play a match. Also with the dip in the weather please ensure that the players come properly prepared to training and matches with hats, gloves, tracksuits etc.
