Poor Display By U15s

Samphires 2 Kenmare 6 was the score after last week’s match. A poor display by our lads who never got to grips with the game. We played against the wind in the first half and went 3 down after a series of preventable mistakes. Ater 20 minutes despite giving as good as we were getting we failed to follow in an excellent shot which Brian O Regan did well to keep out and their winger found himself on his own at the rebound for a tap in. For their second 2 minutes we dallied at the back , got dispossessed and got punished again. After another 3 minutes we failed to head clear a corner for the second match in a row and it was 3. Thomas Lenihan got one back for us just on the half to give us a lifeline. 2nd Half – We went on the offensive for the duration and were somewhat unfortunate at times that the ball didn’t seem to fall for us but as they say you make your luck and we were quite often the architects of our own misfortune through sloppy passing and dribbling unnecessarily. Kenmare added to our woes after 15 minutes but Christopher Murphy got one back straight away to just about keep us in the hunt but we just could never force another goal despite everyone giving their all which is to our fellas’ credit but in the last 5 minutes when the game got completely stretched, Kenmare added another couple to copperfasten their win. Best for us on the day were Jack McCarthy,Brian O’ Regan and Padraig O’Mahony.
