Our Under 12 team played Asdee last weekend and did quite well despite losing 4-1.we started with the following team – Liam Chute,Sean Vieux,Michael Kirby,Colm Healy, Conor Gaynor, Jack Falvey,Cian Donnellan, Dara Heim, Gavin Hussey, Cian Donnellan,Paddy Walsh. We conceded 2 early goals and were playing catchup from thereon but our lads were game and matched our opponents for the remainfer of the game. Both teams played some good stuff and defended well. Our lads defending in our own third has improved leaps and bounds over the last few months but our midfield defending needs to improve. Some of our lads in these positions, though talented, must realise that defence is at least half of the game and they must make their contribution when the other team has the ball. With 5 minutes to go in the half we conceded a goal on the break but Cian Donnellan quickly responded to leave it 3 -1 at half time. We introduced Conor Lenihan,Adam Dolan,Daniel Nolan,Sean Hurley Ciaran Tuite at half time and early in the second half and all did very well. Indeed both teams cancelled each other out until the last minute when a shot from distance left it 4 – 1 to Asdee. Well done to all the lads and it was great to see so many lads togged out.Keep up the training on Thursday nights in Fenit, listen to the coaches and we will keep improving.
