Under U14s Narrowly Lose

Last Saturday out under14’s took on the Park at home. Both teams started cautiously trying to size each other up with very few chances appearing to either team in the opening exchanges in the game. However as the game progressed the Tralee side became more comfortable and started to push forward and put pressure on our back line led by Cormac O Brien. Fenit did have a number of counter attacks which were well defended by the Park players. The Tralee side’s pressure later got too much for Fenit and they scored 3 goals in the final 15 minutes of the first half.
The second half was a completely different game with the movement of Sean Donellan into midfield making a big difference for the home side. Fenit was the better of the teams in the second half and this pressure paid off with a great strike from Ciaran Murray to score a goal for the home-side. Fenit’s pressure continued and paid off with another goal. With Fenit pushing numbers on for an equalizer the Park had a number of opportunities to counter attack and despite our goalkeeper Brian’s best efforts the Park finished the game off with 1 more goal.
All credit to our boys for fighting back in the second half and thanks to the Park for a great game.
