Under 15s Start Campaign With Resounding Win

On Sat last the under 15s had a home game to start the new season. Overall it was a satisfying day and we emerged 10 – 3 winners over a disjointed Killorglin team who have lost a number of players since last season and so are in the process of rebuilding. We too have lost a few players but are in the happy position of being able to call on players from our under 14 team who slotted in seamlessly. New keeper Brian O Regan is one of these players and he had a super game for us today – he saved a penalty, both his handling and speed off the line was top drawer. Our defence of Carmo,Sean,Antoin and  Padraig on occasion lost their shape which at times proved costly but in the main were very competent and were the bedrock off our success. Our midfield were a powerful unit and dominated throughout. Thomas and Jack in the middle controlled the game and Sean and Dara on the wings acted both as providers and finishers. Even though our passing was quite soft it was great to see us move the ball to great effect. Up front Christopher and Bobby were clinical and their decision making was of a high order. Both were very unselfish, often setting others up with some smashing lay offs. We introduced Cormac who played very well a s usual and gave David Lenihan his debut with this team. He filled in very well, nearly scored on 2 occasions and set Dara up for his hat trick so a big well done to him and all his team mates on a good start to the new season.Training again during the week for everyone and it is vital that everyone attends. We would also like to wish Oisin O’Brien a speedy recovery from his leg injury
