U14s Show Signs of Improvement

Our U14s played Killarney Celtic lat Saturday. We were without a number of regulars and a tough day at the office looked to be on the cards. We started very well and for the first 15 minutes we pinned Killarney back but our lack of physical strength compared to our opponents proved the difference again today. In the 16th minute we lost possession in midfield and Killarney countered and scored through their right winger whose pace caused us trouble at times in the first half. Indeed he outstripped us again after 20 minutes despite us having the lion’s share of possession and we conceded a third from a corner which was disappointing as we had a number of chances to clear. The second half was similar to the first as we continued to pass our way through the opposition at times but we never really threatened their goal until the last 10 minutes when Oisin put 2 over the bar from close range. Killarney scored a 4th with 5 to go with a shot from 25 yards found it’s way into the top corner to put a gloss on the result. But all involved today can hold their heads high after another brave performance.
